When Diablo 3 was released in 2012, there was a two-year gap between it and its first major expansion Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls and then another three before Rise of the Necromancer made an appearance. If previous games are any indicator, it could be quite a wait before a full expansion for Diablo 4 is made available. The game already offers a lot of variety in the skills and abilities players can choose, but many feel that it still lacks visual customization options, particularly where the Druid class is concerned. Because this has been a highlighted aspect of the game development since the beginning, it will probably continue to be worked on and improved moving forward, and a new DLC could be released which would focus on adding to those customization options and features. New DLC or expansions for Diablo 4 could also see further growth in the developers' focus to make Diablo 4 rich in skill customization for characters. Continued story additions and arcs have been confirmed that will expand upon the story from where things are left off at the end of the base game of Diablo 4. Many Diablo 4 fans are hoping for a DLC which will add non-combat pets to the game, as that was a beloved feature from Diablo 3 and seems like an odd omission from this latest title.
